Certified Organic Valerian Root Herbal Tea: Valerian is believed to have been used since from the time of ancient Greece and Rome. It was used as a folk remedy for a variety of conditions such as sleeping problems, digestive complaints, nervousness, trembling, tension headaches and heart palpitations. Valerian's popularity waned with the introduction of prescription sleep medication.

Valerian appears to increase the body's available supply of the neurotransmitter gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), possibly by increasing its production, decreasing its absorption or slowing its breakdown.

Health benefits: Valerian is best known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Native to Asia and Europe. Common medicinal uses include: aids in the treatment of high blood pressure, muscle relaxing, aids in treatment of insomina, pain-relieving, general heart tonic.

Serving Suggestions: Bring water almost to boil. Steep for only one minute to two minutes. Too long, and the taste can become too strong for most peoples tastes. Only one unheaped teaspoon is needed. This tea can be reused up to three times.

The lid of the canister is see-through glass with an airtight rubber seal (see images) and a clip-down steel clasp. You will be provided with 2 attractive labels to stick on the canister. One 'Certified Organic' label and a label with the name and health benefits of the tea printed on it.

This tea infuser is a high-quality stainless-steel teacup strainer/leaf infuser. It ensures a great brew every time - even with very fine cut tea leaves! So easy to use, simply put into your cup, mug or pot, add tea leaves, pour in hot water and enjoy!

The lid serves as a lid, whilst the tea is brewing, and as a base for standing the infuser in when you remove it from your teacup.
